Hi and welcome to Liljabs.com 🙂
today is my day in the garden party block hop.
When I think of gardens the first thing that comes into my mind is Birds, so I thought it was perfect to make a bird block.
This is Bluebird and it is 10″
But I’m also having a giveaway this week. I’m giving away 2 patterns of your choice from my Craftsy store. there will be 2 winners (randomly chosen) that will each get one pattern. one winner will be drawn from the comments on this post and the other from finished ‘Bluebird’ patterns posted in the garden party flickr group The winners will be announced (and contacted) a week from today on April 13th (I hope you’re not superstitious since it’s a Friday :P)
You can click the link below to see my craftsy patterns.

My husband and I love birds,we have 3 parrots a Blue and Gold MacCaw, Yellow Collar Maccaw and a Quaker parrot. I want to learn how to make blocks of them for a quilt for my husband. I love the bluebird and it will help me make one using everyday birds for my folks who watch birds from their house, and the other for him.
Thank you
My grandfather has lots of birds. so I grew up around anything from Parrots to ducks, doves and chickens.
I hope you can make your husband a beautiful quilt
Thank you. Just the right block for the garden.
I hope you’ll enjoy it 🙂
Friday, April 13th is my son’s birthday. He’s my baby boy, and will be 40! Where did the time go? I love the pattern for the bluebird.
Thank you and happy birthday to your son.
I know what you mean about the time (although I just turned 28 on the 11th) every year seems to fly by faster.
What a beautiful bluebird! Thanks for sharing!

I just love your bluebird. Hope to make one to hang in my sunroom.
thank you, It will undoubtedly look lovely hanging around your sunroom 🙂
What a pretty little bluebird! My Dad put a bluebird house up in our back yard a couple weeks ago, and that very day, a couple came to check it out. After spending a little time checking it out, they decided to set up housekeeping! 🙂 Now, every time I look out my kitchen window, I see them both perched on my shepherd hooks! What a happy thing! 🙂 Thank you for the chance to win!
Thank you.
It must be lovely having bluebirds setting up house in your garden.
I’ve actually never seen one in person since they don’t live here but they are lovely birds

how do I purchase your patterns. They are delightful
All the patterns on my website are free. You just need to click on the name beneath the pictures. But if you want to buy my patterns I have a few for sale on Craftsy. You can find a link to it on the bar on the right.
I went to the bluebird and kept getting the flicker picture, never the pattern, suggestions? Thanks, Tori
You need to click the name beneath the picture for the pattern. Not the picture 🙂
it just spins and won’t take me anywhere when I do that….?? What am I doing wrong?
Strange. It works for me. Here try this link https://liljabs.files.wordpress.com/2011/12/bluebird.pdf
Perhaps it’s not meant to be, I clicked, I copied and pasted and the little blue things spins and then goes blank…I will try on my sister’s computer later and see if that makes a difference. Thank you so much. Love your blocks! Tori
Thank you. I hope it will work on your sisters computer
If not here is one more thing to try.
You may not be able to open PDFs in your browser maybe you need to right click – save to computer before you can see it. 🙂
It worked, I right clicke on the word, ‘bluebird’ and it opened ! The tricks of the trade, I tell ya! Thank you!
Oh my! I see another addiction about to happen. I’m hooked on “Not all who wander are lost” and way behind on that one. Now a fabulous blue bird to make me take a peek at the Garden Party. I need a heavy dose of selfcontroll.
My bee is having a bird block exchange and viola this pattern appears. Thank you for sending it just in time for me to begin my blocks.
I love paper piecing. This block is pretty. Have to search my stash and see if I can duplicate the colors. Yours is perfect. Thank you
Thank you 🙂
Confused? Where is the pattern? Perfect choice for my mom.
You can find the pattern below the picture. We’re it says bluebird.
