Since I made my Yuletide lads quilt before last Christmas, I’ve been getting requests for the patterns. So I finally have the first one ready for you guys. I’m planing on having them all up before Christmas so You can enjoy your very own Yuletide quilt for the holidays 🙂
The Icelandic Yuletide lads are based on an old poem by Jóhannes Úr Kötlum. The lads are much like Santa is for the rest of the world (only we have 13 of them 😛 )
so here is lad number one: stekkjastaur or Sheep-Cote Clod
the pattern is 7″

the pattern may be a little different than the picture since I’ve updated it since I did the quilt 🙂
keep checking in cause the next one should be up in a few days
enjoy

My cat, Skutla passed away this morning. She was 17yrs old (born April 6th 1994) I was there when she was born. although it was almost midnight by the time she was born. I was allowed to be at my best friends house (she had the mother) until all the kittens were born. She was the last, and smallest of the kittens born just before midnight on april 6th, 5 days before my 10th birthday.
She came to our house June 1st 1994 and she has always been my best friend. Having my illness (social phobia) makes it hard for me to make human friends. It’s only recently that I have been able to make some awesome human friends on the internet but even then most of them are on another continent.
So this is a Goodbye to my best friend and sometimes parent Skutla Snældudóttir. I will always love you and I miss you already.
Rest in peace my love

I have another 2 new patterns for you guys.
first one is a LOTR pattern

‘Staff Of Saruman’ it is relatively easy.
the other one is a Grease pattern andit comes with a warning:
this pattern has lots of really small pieces and is not for a beginner or anyone with short temper.
it just looks so good that I had to post it 😀

it is of caurse the ‘Rydell High’ school logo 😀
These will be the last patterns for some time now. I’m going to take some of the summer off to try and finish some of the projects I’ve had on hold while designing.
But not to worry I’ll be back in the fall (at the latest) with new patterns and I’m even thinking about putting up a small pattern shop (ether here on liljabs.com or on etsy, not sure yet)
That doesn’t mean I’m going to stop posting for the summer. I’m going to be updating with TTMT’s, wordless Wednesday, fabric Friday and updates on what I’m working on or if I’ve finished a project. Just maybe not every week 🙂
enjoy and happy sewing
